H.E.A.L. Comprehensive Wound Assessment – Half Day Virtual Online
Successful wound care is dependent not only on local care of the wound, but also understanding the etiology of the wound, addressing systematic issues, and assessing the whole patient. The session is a foundation of a better understanding of modern, generic & evidence based wound care.
This is a comprehensive education program that is designed to be used in conjunction with evidence-based, best-practice guidelines and protocols. Upon completion of this program, the participant should be able to:
1) Describe the components of a comprehensive client/patient wound assessment
2) Understand the significance of a standardized approach to a client/patient wound assessment
3) Utilize the knowledge gained to improve assessment techniques in the clinical setting
4) Better understand the wound product choices available to clinicians
It will cover all of the basic principles that affect wound healing, management of biofilm, case studies, and then end with a live-camera dressings product review (dressings explained by their functional category differences).
